Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 109 calls for service over the past week in and around Aroostook County. Here is the Troop's weekly report:

Incident Type: OAS Date: 3/20/2017 Town: Linneus Trooper: Tr. Bell Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell was parked in Linneus when a male was observed driving. The male had previous history of operating after suspension. Tr. Bell followed the male into the male’s driveway, and during a casual encounter the male admitted to driving and having a suspended license. The male was summonsed for operating after suspension.

Incident Type: TRAINING Date: 3/20/2017 Town: HOULTON Trooper: Troop F Brief Synopsis: Members of Troop F attended Troop Training in Houlton. The training focused on Traffic Incident Management System (TIMS) in the morning and Narcan in the afternoon. All Troop F Troopers have been issued Narcan. The training was also attended by members of CVEU and MCU.

Incident Type: Burglary and Assault Date: 3/23/2017 Town: Monticello Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia was called out to a residence in Monticello when the homeowner reported a woman entered their home screaming to call the police because a man was after her. Tr. Sylvia arrived and was met by a very confrontational female who later admitted she was using meth. Troopers Stetson and Flynn responded to assist with the arrest and transport of the female to the hospital in the ambulance. The woman was eventually cleared medically and charged with burglary and assault.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 3/24/2017 Town: Smyrna Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley stopped a 20-year-old Madawaska man after he passed Tr. Lilley’s unmarked cruiser at 108 mph in Interstate 95. The man told Tr. Lilley that he just learned that his grandmother is in the hospital and he is trying to get home to see her. The man also had his twin brother in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The two attend college in Southern Maine and were returning home. Tr. Lilley issued the driver a criminal summons for his excessive speed.

Incident Type: OAR / Warrants Date: 3/24/2017 Town: Hodgdon Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins arrested a 42-year-old Patten man for Operating After Revocation and several warrants. It was reported that the man was leaving a residence in Orient. Tr. Stoutamyer was returning from a detail in Troop J, heard the call going to Tr. Kilcollins, and observed the vehicle in Hodgdon. Tr. Stoutamyer followed the vehicle into a driveway and when Tr. Kilcollins arrived the man admitted to driving while revoked and knew he had warrants for his arrest. The warrants were for Failing to Appear for a Fine Hearing and two for unpaid fines. The total bail on the warrants was $640 cash. The man was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 3/24/2017 Town: Machias Trooper: Tr. Stoutamyer Brief Synopsis: Tr. Stoutamyer and Tr. Pescitelli were conducting a Distracted Driver detail in the town of Machias when they stopped a vehicle as the occupants were not wearing seat belts. The male passenger did not want to provide his name, and had no identification. The Troopers took a photograph of the person and texted it to Tr. Gavin Endre of Troop J who then sent it out to others in the Troop. Cpl. Christopher Smith recognized the man and provided his name and it was discovered that the man had an active arrest warrant. When confronted a second time, the man said that he was not the person in question, but his twin brother. When they ran the twin brother, it found that he had 6 active warrants. The man was then placed under arrest and taken to the jail in Machias.

Incident Type: PURSUIT Date: 3/25/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley attempted to stop a vehicle that was driving 95 mph on Interstate 95 in Houlton. Although he had his blue lights and siren activated the vehicle refused to stop. Cpl. Quint and Houlton PD Officers were advised and responding to assist Tr. Lilley. The woman eventually stopped and stated to Tr. Lilley in broken English that she did not know what the blue lights meant and police lights are red in New York. Tr. Lilley issued the woman a traffic summons for speeding and explained she needs to yield to flashing blue lights in Maine.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 3/25/2017 Town: Presque Isle Trooper: Tr. Levesque Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque was driving on US Highway 1 in Presque Isle when he observed a vehicle aggressively passing other vehicles. Tr. Levesque locked the vehicle’s speed at 86 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. After stopping the vehicle he spoke with the 54-year-old female driver and she stated there was a pickup following her to close and she wanted to get away from it. Tr. Levesque issued the woman a summons for criminal speeding.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 3/25/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 1 in Houlton. The operator of the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest. The operator was arrested and was bailed from the Troop F Barracks.

Incident Type: Arrest Date: 3/25/2017 Town: Castle Hill Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli was parked on Route 227 observing the flow of traffic when he noticed a vehicle go past that did not have working license plate lights. Tr. Pescitelli conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who couldn’t provide a registration for the vehicle. After running the license plate it was discovered that it was falsely attached to the vehicle being operated by the driver. Tr. Pescitelli offered to go to the individual’s house to check the paperwork but the individual said he wouldn’t be able to “find it in a timely manner.” The individual was issued a criminal summons for the offense.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
