Incident Type: Trespassing Date: 7/23/2017 Town: Bridgewater Trooper: Cpl. Quint  Brief Synopsis: A Bridgewater resident called 911 reporting waking up and finding a man standing in her kitchen. The woman told her husband and he found the man walking on the roadway. The husband started to give the man a ride home when Cpl. Quint arrived. The trespasser said he did not know where he was and was heavily intoxicated. The homeowner declined to file a formal complaint of trespassing so Cpl. Quint took the man home.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 7/24/2017 Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Cpl. Michaud  Brief Synopsis: On 7/22/17 at approximately 7 PM State Police received a report that owners of a local farm stand in Blaine had their cash box damaged and the money stolen from it. Corporal Chuck Michaud took the initial call and began his investigation. Before the end of the evening, Cpl. Michaud learned that several farms stands in the Central Aroostook area had their cash boxes broken into and the money stolen from them. During the investigation surveillance footage obtained from some of the farm stands helped to develop a suspect vehicle and persons of interest in the crimes. Later in the evening, Cpl. Michaud located one suspect and recovered some of the cash that had been stolen as well as evidence from the crimes. On 7/24/17, Cpl. Michaud located the other individuals involved in the thefts. As a result of the investigation, Cpl. Michaud charged the following individuals with multiple counts of Theft and Criminal Mischief: Christopher Cyr (37) Wendy Bartley (41) Patricia Hyde (36)

Incident Type: OAS Date: 7/25/2017 Town: Patten Trooper: Tr. Adams  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams stopped a vehicle in the town of Patten after recognizing the operation and knew the operator had a suspended license. Tr. Adams had summonsed the male on 6/17/2017 for the same offense. The operator was issued a criminal summons for OAS and will have to appear in Millinocket District Court.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 7/25/2017 Town: Linneus Trooper: Tr. Bell  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell observed a vehicle with an expired and falsely attached registration plate. The vehicle began swerving while being followed. Tr. Bell stopped and interviewed the driver and multiple indicators of impairment were observed. The male performed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and showed multiple clues and as a result, the male was arrested and submitted to a breath test. The male’s breath alcohol concentration was twice the legal limit.

Incident Type: Violation of Bail Date: 7/26/2017 Town: Ashland Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to display a valid inspection sticker. Records indicated the operator was on bail with conditions to submit to search and test at any time. After a search of the vehicle was conducted Tr. Pescitelli and Tr. Stoutamyer did not find drugs or other contraband. The operator was then administered a urine test which indicated that he had used methamphetamine recently. The male was arrested for violation of bail and transported to Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: Warrant Date: 7/26/2017 Town: Ashland Trooper: Tr. Pescitelli  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli was monitoring traffic on Main St in Ashland when he ran a license plate on a passing vehicle. A records check indicated that the registered owner who was operating the vehicle had an active warrant for her arrest. Tr. Pescitelli initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the female was arrested for the warrant with the assistance of Ashland PD.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 7/27/2017 Town: T14-R6 Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: At 0445 Hours State Police received a report of 2 crashes on Route 11 in T14R6 in the area of Soucy Hill. Cpl. Chuck Michaud responded to the crashes and his investigation revealed that 18-year-old Greyden Pelletier of Fort Kent had been driving south on Route 11 when a moose ran into the roadway and struck the front end of the 2004 GMC truck. The moose smashed the windshield of the truck and then came to rest in the northbound lane of Route 11. As Mr. Pelletier pulled over, 19-year-old Shawn Gantnier of Madawaska was traveling north on Route 11. Gantnier came around a slight bend on Route 11 just prior to the first crash and was unable to avoid striking the moose that Pelletier had just struck. Gantnier ran over the moose that Pelletier had just struck, totaling his 2005 Toyota Camry. Neither Gantnier of Pelletier was injured in the crash; however, both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 7/27/2017 Town: Woodland Trooper: Tr. Casavant  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant responded to Woodland camp for a theft investigation. A camp owner returned to her camp to find that two side by side ATVs that she owned had been stolen. The owner had been away for most of the month. Tr. Casavant is investigating the thefts and actively working the case.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 7/27/2017 Town: Crystal Trooper: Tr. Lilley  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley is currently investigating a report of a stolen ATV in Crystal. Trp. Lilley has a suspect and is currently following evidence/leads in this case, which is still under current investigation. The ATV had been left at a residence and the caretaker of the property just noticed it missing.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 7/27/2017 Town: Silver Ridge Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley is currently investigating a burglary in Silver Ridge. The complainant reported someone broke into the residence that is currently not occupied and stole some books, a computer, and other various items. Tr. Lilley believes he has a suspect and is still working this investigation.

Incident Type: Drag Racing Date: 7/28/2017 Town: Cross Lake Trooper: Tr. Desrosier  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier received a complaint from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office of a large number of vehicles parked at the power station in Cross Lake. Tr. Desrosier and Tr. Stoutamyer went to investigate and discovered the participants were setting up to drag race. Tr. Desrosier told everyone to depart the area and alerted Fort Kent and Madawaska PD’s of the call due to majority of the people being from those towns.

Incident Type: Disorderly Conduct/Harassment Date: 7/29/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Desrosier  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier issued a disorderly conduct and harassment warning to a 40-year-old Frenchville man after he was driving his lawn mower on the roadway in front of his neighbor’s house and was trying to get the neighbor to fight him. The man had previously been arrested by Tr. Curtin for trespassing but was no longer on conditions of release. The man was issued the two warnings and told to go home by Tr. Desrosier.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 7/30/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins  Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins responded to a crash that was thought to be in New Limerick but was actually in Houlton. A 45-year-old female was driving to the public boat landing at Drew’s Lake and missed her turn. When she tried to turn back, the woman went off the road and her car (which had no damage) became stuck. A passerby reported the incident and when Tr. Kilcollins arrived he determined the woman was intoxicated. The woman was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
