Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 94 calls for service this past week in Aroostook County and surrounding areas. Here is the Troop’s weekly report:

Incident Type: OAS Date: 1/22/2018 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque was assigned a Stonegarden Detail in the Sherman area. During the detail, he stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction and discovered the Canadian driver’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle in Maine was currently suspended for failing to appear in court. Tr. Levesque issued the woman a criminal summons for the violation and helped her find a licensed driver to get her and her vehicle.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 1/22/2018 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams was conducting a warrant check in Patten. Tr Adams pulled into a driveway and the male with the warrant came out of the house and told Tr Adams that he was waiting for a ride to Penobscot Jail to serve a 30-day sentence. Tr Adams advised the male that he had an active warrant out of Aroostook county and Tr Adams arrested the male on the warrant.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 1/24/2018 Town: SAINT AGATHA Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier received a complaint of harassment in Saint Agatha. While conducting his investigation, he found the male respondent of the complaint driving. He stopped the man and while speaking with him discovered he was impaired from alcohol. Tr. Desrosier had the man complete Field Sobriety Testing consequently arrested him for OUI. The man was taken to Madawaska PD for a breath test and was later released on bail.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT Date: 1/24/2018 Town: BRIDGEWATER Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: 1/24/18 at 1440 Hours State Police received a call of a tractor trailer crash on Route 1 in Bridgewater. Tr Jared Sylvia and Lt. Brian Harris responded to the scene. Tr. Sylvia’s investigation revealed that 53-year-old Dallas Mojica had been northbound in a 2017 Freightliner owned by Prime Inc. with an unloaded box trailer when she lost control on the ice-covered road. High winds in the area had blown snow over the roadway and with the drop-in temperature the road became covered in ice. The tractor trailer went into the southbound lane and struck the snowbank. The tractor and trailer were both severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. The operator was only slightly injured and was not transported to any hospital. Traffic on Route 1 was stopped intermittently for the next several hours until sand could be put down on the roadway. Eventually the scene was cleared and road conditions improved so traffic could move freely. PHOTO HERE

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 1/27/2018 Town: OAKFIELD Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams was conducting a warrant check in Oakfield and saw a female walking on the road that he identified as the female he was looking for with 2 active warrants. The female was stopped and arrested without incident.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 1/27/2018 Town: PRESQUE ISLE Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli received a report that a male driver who was revoked would be driving from Houlton to Presque Isle. Tr Pescitelli located the vehicle several minutes later and arrested the male for the violation of felony OAR.

Incident Type: DRUG POSSESSION Date: 1/27/2018 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli noticed two vehicles parked behind some storage buildings. Tr Pescitelli began interviewing the occupants and a female originally gave him a fake name but after further investigation, she eventually gave Tr Pescitelli her real name. Tr Pescitelli found that this female was on probation and called the probation officer, who informed Tr. Pescitelli she had search conditions. Tr Pescitelli conducted a search and located drugs and arrested the female for drug possession.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL TRAFFIC VIOLATION Date: 1/28/2018 Town: MONTICELLO Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr. Pescitelli was on patrol in Monticello and stopped a vehicle for speeding. Tr Pescitelli noticed that the inspection sticker appeared to have been altered and upon checking into the serial numbers, Tr Pescitelli could determine that the inspection sticker had been issued to a different vehicle. Tr Pescitelli issued a criminal summons for the violation and a speeding ticket.
