Incident Type: THEFT Date: 1/08/2018 Town: SAINT AGATHA Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier is investigating a theft from the high school in Saint Agatha. A family moved from the area and the student never returned text books and a laptop computer. The school is estimating the items to be around $800. Tr. Desrosier is still working on this investigation.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 1/13/2018 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was conducting traffic enforcement in Frenchville when he observed a vehicle driving without headlights and purposely losing traction on the roadway. Tr. Desrosier stopped the vehicle and while speaking with the driver learned he was impaired. The 19-year-old male driver completed Field Sobriety Testing and was arrested for OUI.

Incident Type: ASSAULT Date: 1/12/2018 Town: MONTICELLO Trooper: TR. SYLVIA SGT. HAINES Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia and Sgt. Haines responded to Monticello when a woman reported she had been assaulted with a hammer. The incident remains under investigation, but it appears that the woman was not actually hit with a hammer. She had approached a residence looking to speak with a woman when another subject came to the door and reportedly swung a hammer at the woman and hit a post near her head. No charges have been filed as of yet and more interviews are going to be conducted.

Incident Type: CIVIL ISSUE Date: 1/11/2018 Town: ISLAND FALLS Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier investigated an incident in Island Falls when a woman reported that she had given a man $1,000 as a deposit so that she could look at a piece of property, and the male subject had not lived up to his end of the bargain. The woman told Tr. Saucier that she had told the subject that the money was non-refundable, but when she went to look at the property there were already people there so she could not look at it. She felt that this had changed the agreement. Tr. Saucier advised all parties that the issue was civil and they would have to take the issue up in court if they could not come to an agreement.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
