How Does Maine Rank for Politeness Among Airline Passengers?
A recent report has ranked states on the spectrum of rude and polite airline passengers. Where does Maine fall on this list?
Before you see the results, what do you think? Do you assume Maine is known for its kindness, or do you believe we might lean toward rudeness? After all, as Noah Kahan famously sang, "I’m mean because I grew up in New England!”
Also, how is that even determined? How does anyone come to such a conclusion? This seems both specific and vague, right?
Reader’s Digest's report on airline passenger politeness analyzed a survey conducted by Solitaire Bliss, which gathered insights from over 2,000 Americans across all states.
The 2024 survey asked participants to disclose ‘naughty’ behaviors they had engaged in or witnessed at airports and on airplanes.
Respondents reviewed a list of bad travel habits, indicating whether they had committed these offenses or observed others doing so. Calculating a ‘Naughty Travel Habits’ score for each state, ranging from zero to 100, and ranking them based on these scores.
With that being said, where did Maine rank regarding polite airline passengers?
According to Reader’s Digest’s report titled ‘These States Have the Most Polite Airline Passengers,’ Maine ranks 10th in the nation in response to the question, ‘Which state has the most polite airline passengers?’ Additionally, we’re the only New England state in the top 10.
A recent report indicates that folks from our Pine Tree State are among the most polite airline passengers in America.
What are your thoughts on Maine being recognized as home to some of the most polite airline passengers? Based on your own personal experiences, would you agree? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
