Maine Police Investigating the Death of a Four-Year-Old Girl

State Police Detectives have joined Wiscasset Police in investigating the death of a four-year-old girl in the town Friday afternoon.

An ambulance responded to the child’s home at 19 Crickets Lane about 4:30 Friday afternoon after a 911 call had been placed from the home reporting an unresponsive child.  Kendall Chick was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick where she died shortly after arrival.

The girl lived with her grandfather, Stephen Hood, and his fiancée, Shawna Gatto. An autopsy took place over the weekend, but results have not been released. Detectives have spoken with the two adults and continue to investigate the girl’s death.  Kendall turned 4 on November 26.
