WalletHub's 2024 report on the 'Best & Worst Places to Retire' analyzed 182 U.S. cities based on four key factors: affordability, activities, quality of life, and health care. Using 45 metrics, each city was graded on a 100-point scale, with adjustments like population size to ensure fair comparisons.

Scores were averaged and weighted to rank cities, focusing only on city limits rather than metro areas.

The analysis from WalletHub assumes retirees live on fixed incomes, emphasizing how lower expenses can improve retirement conditions.
