Little Big Town Send Love From Scotland Following Route 91 Shooting [WATCH]
Little Big Town performed in Scotland on Oct. 2, the day following the deadly mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nev. Video from that night shows audience members waving an American flag and chanting "U.S.A.! U.S.A.!" as band member Kimberly Schlapman addressed the tragedy.
Readers can press play above to watch the emotional moment. Schlapman tells the cheering audience, "It takes a whole lot of people to put on our show, and our whole lot of people have a whole lot of friends in Las Vegas last night ... We are holding them so close in our hearts, and we are here to do what country music does, and that is love ..."
"Wish you could feel the love from Scotland last night," Little Big Town posted on Instagram when sharing the video. "It was powerful and emotional, and we’re gonna do everything we can to spread it around."
In a post from earlier that day, Little Big Town shared a picture from their time onstage at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in 2016.
"This was one year ago. We played Route 91 on Sunday night and had the most incredible time," the caption reads. "We’re mourning and grieving with you, Las Vegas. Our prayers are with all the first responders, artists, crew and mostly the country fans."
Little Big Town are among the many country artists who have spoke out following the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in one way or another. Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church and many more have voiced their grief and offered tributes to the victims.
