In a video that opens with a tribute from the legendary Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves and her new husband, singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, pair up to breathe new life into a love letter written by Johnny Cash to his wife, June Carter Cash. Readers can press play above to watch the breathtaking black-and-white video, set on a farm in Mississippi.

Kristofferson and Nelson and Musgraves and Kelly's songs capture the simplicity, and the power, of Cash's words. Kristofferson leads into Kelly and Musgraves' song with a recitation of Cash's poem "Forever," as Nelson plays the melody to Cash's song "I Still Miss Someone" in the background. Then, Musgraves and Kelly sing: "And I made the morning coffee / Then your feet on the stair / You said good morning to me / Then I sat beside you there."

Kelly began writing "To June This Morning" as a teenager, based on a letter that Cash wrote to his wife in 1970 when she was eight months pregnant with their son, John Carter Cash. Set to the backdrop of a simple banjo and guitar refrain, the newlyweds lend gentle harmonies to the story of a cold morning together at the Cashes' home.

"To June This Morning," as well as "Forever / I Still Miss Some One" are part of Johnny Cash: Forever Words, a tribute album that sets Cash's poetry and writings to music performed by some of the industry's brightest stars, including the late Chris Cornell Brad PaisleyJohn MellencampCarlene CarterElvis Costello. It was released on April 6.
