Kacey Musgraves' music is headed to theaters in January. The singer is featured on a new song called "Moonshine" that appears in the movie Live by Night, starring Ben Affleck, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina and Sienna Miller.

Musgraves teams up with Irish artist Foy Vance for the folk-infused tune "Moonshine." On the track, she assists Vance on harmony. Listen to it above.

“When I first heard the song, I got a really fun, Southern vibe from it,” Musgraves says in a behind-the-scenes video. “I thought that it would be kind of a fun challenge for me to figure out how to mix in my own flavor and my own bits of harmony with the song.”

Vance has the lead throughout "Moonshine," with his deep vocals singing of how the drink "burns like hell but it tastes like heaven" alongside acoustic instruments that embody a backwoods throwback feel.

Live by Night hits theaters on Jan. 13. The film is based on a novel of the same name written by Dennis Lehane. The film takes place in the 1920s and '30s. Affleck plays a bootlegger involved with the mob.

"We wanted to have a female vocal on there because there's a couple really strong female characters in the film," explains Vance, who also wrote the song.

“I am one that loves a cinematic experience,” Musgraves adds, “so I am very excited to go to the theater on the day that it comes out and sit with my friends and hear this song that I’m a part of.”
