In February of 2021, superstar actor John Travolta made international headlines when he listed his Islesboro, Maine, home for sale.

Despite the attention, the $5 million dollar price tag proved to be too pricey for potential buyers during the pandemic. By late 2021, it appeared Travolta had either quietly sold the property or removed the listing altogether.

According to Daily Mail UK, Travolta was spotted vacationing over the holidays in 2022 at the enormous estate with his children, leading to speculation that he hadn't sold the Islesboro property, but rather pulled it from the market.

Just a couple of months later, the property at 299 Drexel Lane was once again re-listed by Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty by Brian Wickenden. As was the case in both 2021 and 2023, the link now leads to a dead end, meaning Travolta's house has either sold or has been pulled from the market.

According to the New York Post, Travolta just can't seem to find a buyer willing to match his price for the sprawling home. As with many real estate transactions, a seller may be willing to part with a home but only on their terms. That seems to be the case with Travolta.

When it was active, the listing highlights the home as being built in 1903 and having an incredible waterfront view. There are 20 bedrooms and three floors of luxury living, and yes, it's got an in-ground pool.

Architectural Digest took a tour of the place all the way back in 1999. In the article, Travolta highlights the journey of first purchasing the property and setting up the home for his family.

The tough real estate market hasn't stopped Travolta and his family from coming back to New England. In December, they were spotted enjoying the ski slopes in the area, perhaps even spending some time at their home in Islesboro.

If you missed it, here's a quick snapshot tour of John Travolta's sprawling estate in Maine.
