January is Crime Stoppers Month

Crime Stoppers has been serving our area for a long time now. New Brunswick Crime Stoppers has been around since 1985 and Aroostook County Crime Stoppers has been around since 1987. It’s hard to believe that is been that long!

Over the years, New Brunswick Crime Stoppers has solved 7,800 cases with the help of tips from the public. Those tips have also resulted in more than 8,400 people being arrested, $7.7 million in property recovered, and an estimated street value of nearly $64 million worth of drugs being seized.

Aroostook County Crime Stoppers has recovered over $1,122,577 in stolen property, seized over $8,795,000 worth of narcotics, solved many arson cases, made lots of arrests, and paid out $49,295 in cash rewards.

With January being Crime Stoppers Month around the world we say thank you! Crime Stoppers has had great success because of the many volunteers, organizations, sponsors, businesses, media and law enforcement agencies that contribute to its operation.
