Ah, summer in Maine. That time of the year we get to swap the flannel for flip-flops and suddenly remember we actually like being outside. And what's better than soaking up live music under the open sky with a cold drink in hand?
Whether you’re into guitar-shredding rock, folksy acoustic vibes, or just want to sway in the grass with a local brew, Maine’s got the outdoor venues to make your summer hit perfectly. Here's your go-to guide for catching killer live shows in the great outdoors:

1. Thompson’s Point – Portland

This spot just screams summer. With the Fore River as your backdrop and a rotating lineup of national and local acts, Thompson’s Point is the move. Bonus: Portland is right there for pre-show beers or post-show burritos. Also, the sunsets here? Top tier.

Maine’s biggest outdoor venue isn’t messing around. 7. Payson Park – Portland

Okay, we don't want to get too ahead of ourselves here, since no one knows if this will be a permanent thing—but this summer, Payson Park is definitely an outdoor concert spot to check out as it hosts the first-ever Back Cove Music and Arts Festival the first weekend in August. No word yet on whether this becomes a yearly tradition, but it’s got the space, it’s got the views, and it’s got our attention.
