I'm not complaining or anything, but...

I feel like this is only the first shoe to drop. Maine's weather patterns have this uncanny way of lifting you up to the peak of happiness, and then dashing you upon the rocks of despair. For instance, how many times in the summer, have you just been praying for a break in the humidity, and have a normal 75 degree day?

Only to see that day come up in the forecast... You jump for excitement, right? Then you notice that there will 25-30mph winds accompanying this wonderful weather, making it nearly impossible to truly enjoy. And lord knows... it only snows in Maine when you don't want it to. It never snows on a Saturday morning when it would be fun enjoy it. So yes... I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Bangor to Portland and points beyond, are easily going to get well into the 60's. Even up in Presque Isle, they're likely to hit 60. In November! That's just nuts. There does seem to be a small threat of showers here and there, but they look to be leftovers from the night before.

Will these be record temps for November?

Believe it or not, no. In 2003, Portland hit 74 in early November. But the record was 75, set in 2022. Amazing. We won't get anywhere near those kinds of temps, but the upper 60's this close to Turkey Day ain't too shabby. We'll probably get a foot of snow on Thanksgiving, with our luck.

And that's just it. I don't trust our weather at all. Sure, we'll get to enjoy this right now, but something will undoubtedly come along to balance out our joy. You can only fly up to the sun so many times before you get burned. Although, maybe we can hope that "vicious payback" is that it's 80 on Christmas?!
