Remember how warm it was on Halloween two years ago?

To be fair, I was passing a mammoth kidney stone at the time, so I only have a limited recollection of how gorgeous it was. But it stayed pretty decent through the evening. Then next year of course, it was below freezing. Social media was chock-full of parents complaining about how cold it was. Parents all over Maine would surely rejoice at the prospect of warm trick or treating. Well, not everywhere. Sadly our friends up in the Northern part of the state will not see these glorious temps. Although, they will reach into the 50s/60s that day. That ain't too shabby for that area of Maine.

What about in years past, what's the average?

If you take a look back through the years, Halloween night has always been on the cool side. If one were to put a figure on it, it'd be right around 40-50 degrees for the little candy vacuums. So to have an evening that could be in the 60's would feel like a heat wave. 60 degree trick or treating? That's where it's at.

All this could fall apart between now and then, because it's nature we're dealing with. But there's a few nice days in a row next week, so it may be just enough that it can flex a little in either direction, but Halloween stays warm. All we can do is cross our fingers and wait to see if we'll be wearing short sleeves, or hand warmers.
