Hunter Hayes’ New Song ‘Rescue’ Inspires Charity Partnership [WATCH]
Hunter Hayes has announced a charitable partnership with Zappos.com based on his new song, "Rescue." The tune is Hayes' first new music of 2017, and he's using the opportunity to help others in a big way.
In addition to penning "Rescue" and releasing an accompanying music video, which fans can watch above, Hayes has helped design a line of footwear, the Rescue Collection, for Zappos.com. The artwork on the shoes within the collection was inspired by Hayes' "Rescue" video.
"I've always loved what music and charity organizations can do together, and I think the tie-in with this song is undeniable,” Hayes says in a press release. “We've had the opportunity to work with so many awesome charities over the years, and I realized that, to me, they are exactly that: rescues. They are places of refuge for so many people who need a friend to help them through something or to be there for them. We've seen the power of music in so many ways, and I wanted "Rescue" to be a song that we used for good.”
All profits from the Rescue Collection will go to Zappos for Good, the online retailer's charitable arm; from there, the funds will benefit organizations including the CMA Foundation and Zappos' annual Pawlidayz pet adoption drive.
Fans looking for Hayes-inspired footwear will have to wait, however: The collection doesn't go on sale until December. Once they're available, though, each Rescue Collection purchase will be accompanied by a digital download code for “Rescue” as well as a lyric sheet personalized by Hayes.
Hayes is currently on the road playing summer tour dates. Check out a list of upcoming shows at HunterHayes.com.
