How to Fix the Yellow Pee Spots On Your Maine Lawn
Ahh, spring in Maine when the snow melts, the birds sing, and all of a sudden you finally get to see what your lawn really looks like, naked.
Mine, is not a beautiful sight to behold.
My lawn looks like a leopard, not from disease, or from aliens, but from my dogs glorious winter pee breaks.
This is the first year I’ve had a dog and so this has never happened to me or my beautifully lush lawn.
Those yellow pee spots are a classic side effect of being a dog mama in cold weather. My pup peed and my grass truly paid the price. Are you having the same problem?
However, your lawn’s like a baby, it might take a hit, but it can bounce back, so here’s a little guide I put together of different ways to fix those "yellow gifts," according to lawnlove.
How to Fix Those Yellow "Pee-ture Perfect" Spots on Your Lawn
Flush With Water
So, if you didn’t know this, because I didn’t dog urine is very high in nitrogen. Water will
help dilute the salt and give the area of grass a fighting chance to come back to green.
Rake it Up
Grab your rake the dead or damaged grass and clear the area. Think of it like exfoliating, your lawn deserves a glow-up too.
Apply a Lawn Repair Mix
Add some type of compost or topsoil to the spots to help the grass grow back. You can also grab a dog-spot repair made just for fixing pee-damaged patches.
Train Your Pup
Okay, it's time to retrain the animal to pee in a spot where you won't care to see yellow spots!

Help The Grass Grow Back- Like God
Help the grass grow back by using a fertilizer made for new lawns!
Then sprinkle some grass seed on the spot, perennial ryegrass is a great choice because it grows fast and blends in well.
Now get out there and un-leopard your lawn! Your grass deserves better than patchy pee dots, it should be the kind of thick, green space you want to lay on, picnic on, run barefoot across, and show off to the neighbors (and their dogs). So let us all bring back that green yard, one yellow spot at a time.
