Report Calls East-West Highway Across Maine ‘One of the Worst Transportation Projects in the U.S.’

The Sierra Club report, which examines the best and worst transportation projects in the U.S. and their environmental impact, says the proposed highway will have a devastating impact on Maine.

The report goes on to say that if the highway is build it will harm the woods, water and air in Maine. That will have a crucial impact on the natural and animal habitat.

The Sierra club researchers were quick to point out that highway projects similar to the one in Maine, have been studied in the past and have been rejected.

However, a final report by the Maine Transportation Department is due soon.
