An informational meeting to discuss the establishing of a Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group is being hosted by Cary Medical Center.

This informative meeting will be held in the Chan Center at Cary on Saturday, June 1st at 10:00 am. Those interested in the subject should plan to attend, especially grandparents and grandchildren.

Bill Flagg, Director of Community Relations and Development at Cary Medical Center stated that the opioid epidemic is a major factor in this issue.  “More than 3 million grandparents are raising grandchildren here in the United States at the current time and the numbers are growing." Flagg went on to say that idea behind the support group is to bring people together to share their experiences and provide support in a group dynamic.

Those interested in a support group such as this are invited to the initial meeting. Refreshments will be served. More information can be had by contacting the Public Relations Office at Cary Medical Center 207-498-1112.
