This is such a beautiful story about saving innocence, right here in Maine.

Let's get into it. According to WMTW, an adorable Canadian goose is thankfully safe and sound now after an incredible rescue on Sebago Lake in Maine.

What happened to this goose?

It was a brave rescue operation that took place after this bird fell through the ice. From what we know, the fire department didn't hesitate for a second and jumped right in.

The rescue crews sprang into action, fast, and carefully rescued the goose, immediately wrapping it up in a blanket to keep it warm!

After the rescue, the goose was rushed to the animal rescue clinic to be evaluated.

If you take a look at the photos here, you can also tell how far out into the frigid waters that the goose was. You see the rescue crews with ropes tied to them as they attempt to save the animal. This wasn't an easy task.

Can you imagine witnessing this rescue?

It's not every day that you hear about a heroic goose rescue, but this one definitely warms my heart and I am so happy the bird is okay.

The rescue was a success and I bet that goose is thankful for the Sebago Fire Department.
