Final Call for Oxford Fire Chief Gary Sacco

Hundreds turned out for the funeral for Oxford Fire Chief Gary Sacco Saturday at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School gymnasium. Sacco passed away after a medical issue he experienced while attending the funeral of Capt. Joel Barnes.

Sacco was a firefighter for years and served as Chief of the New Gloucester Fire Department before becoming Chief of Norway Fire and Rescue.

As is tradition with fallen firefighters, a ceremonial final call is made to the officer by dispatch at the funeral service.

Chief Sacco was 63.
