A 46-year-old North Yarmouth man drowned Wednesday afternoon as he saved his two children from a rip current.

Ryan Jennings was pronounced dead at the scene at Juno Beach in Palm Beach County Florida.

Family was on Vacation

He was on family vacation with his wife, 12-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter.

Father Saved his Two Kids from Rip Current

The family said Jennings saved the two children by throwing his son out of the rip current and holding his daughter over his head, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Both kids were safe and no injuries reported.
