Eric Church has been going for the unexpected when selecting songs to cover during his 2019 Double Down Tour. On Saturday night (Feb. 23) in Cincinnati, Ohio, he pulled out Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice."

Readers can press play above to watch Church perform his version of "Gin and Juice," originally released in 1994, when Snoop Dogg was still known as Snoop Doggy Dogg. It only took fans a few seconds to catch onto Church's plan -- and once they did, they were singing along.

"I mentioned earlier the era that I grew up," Church said with a smirk before beginning the cover, "and this next part is a big part of that era."

During a recent show in Detroit, Mich., Church dropped a cover of Eminem's "Lose Yourself" into his set. Early on during his Double Down Tour, which began in January, the country star attempted a cover of Waylon Jennings' "I Ain't Living Long Like This" -- a song that, he admitted, he hadn't played for a while -- forgetting some of the words but making the most of the moment nonetheless.

According to Rolling Stone, Church is taking song suggestions from the audience at each tour stop, and selecting one each night that he and his band have never played before. Church's Double Down Tour is currently scheduled to run through the spring; he's playing two show on back-to-back nights in each city on the trek.
