The actual election of President/Vice President occurs through the Electoral College.  The “popular vote” is used to choose Maine’s 4 “electors”, who convene at what is called the “Electoral College” at the State House in December to cast their “electoral votes.”

Maine has one of the most accessible voting processes in the country. To be eligible to vote in Maine, you must meet the following requirements:

•18 years old

•United States Citizen

•Resident of the municipality in which you want to vote

All voting places close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Your vote matters!  So get out there and vote!

You can check out Maine’s ballot questions at the Maine.gov website.
