According to the Houlton Pioneer Times, 34-year-old Max McGuire and his 21-year-old brother Avery McGuire along with a third person were ejected from the Downunder Sports Pub for causing a disturbance late Saturday night.

Houlton Police say that after being removed from the pub, Max McGuire brought out a 9mm handgun from his vehicle and waved the gun at others in the parking lot. Avery McGuire was said to have punched an individual in the parking lot.

When HPD and State Polcie arrived on scene the brothers had already taken off, but were found at their parents’ home in Linneus.

Both men face charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and assault. Authorities found a 9mm handgun near the parents’ home and seized a GMC pickup.

The brothers were arrested, taken to the Aroostook County Jail and later released on bail. They are expected to appear in Houlton District Court later this summer.

Police say the brothers no longer live in the area and were visiting home for the 4th of July weekend.
