Dolly Parton Will Launch the ‘Dollyverse’ During First-Ever SXSW Performance
Get ready to hear Dolly Parton's name a lot in the coming weeks. The country powerhouse is releasing an album and a book, as well as doing her first-ever performance at South by Southwest Festival, where she'll launch the aptly-named "Dollyverse."
Parton will be partnering with Fox Entertainment's NFT studio Blockchain Creative Labs, who will livestream her appearance at the annual festival on Friday, March 18, for free.
In addition, Parton will be entering the Metaverse by launching "Dollyverse" to promote her first novel, which was co-written with best-selling author James Patterson. The two will be releasing limited edition NFTs of Dolly's new album — Run, Rose, Run — which shares the title with and was inspired by the new book.

SXSW will also mark the debut of Parton's newly-recorded version of "9 to 5." Parton recorded the song with Kelly Clarkson for the upcoming documentary Still Working 9 to 5 about the making of the iconic film of the same name. The film will also be screened at the festival for its world premiere.
It's not been confirmed whether Parton and Clarkson will be on hand to sing the song live. In other Parton news, the tenured artist has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She joins 17 other artists who are up for the coveted accolade.
