The Dexter Tigers breezed past Fort Kent in Tuesday's Class C quarterfinals at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

No. 2 Dexter, who have become perennial tournament participants, pulled away early in the contest on their way to a 52-13 win over the No. 7 Warriors, who struggled to score in their first tournament game in eight years.

Freshman guard Peyton Grant had 23 points in the contest. Another freshman, Avery Herrick added 14 points.

It was a tough day for the Fort Kent Warriors, whose senior captain Libby LaPointe left the game with an injury early in the fourth quarter.

Dexter improves to 16-3. Fort Kent finishes the season at 12-7.

Dexter will play Calais  in the semifinals at 2:05 p.m. on Friday Feb. 23.
