I can’t help but feel so relieved and happy for the family of this little cat in Yarmouth who went missing for two weeks before being rescued from a storm drain.

I mean, can you imagine how they must have been feeling during those two weeks? This is literally every pet owners worst nightmare. And it happens a lot, missing a pet, not knowing where they are and hoping they’re safe.

What really gets me is the thought of how easily this could have ended so differently.

But, it didn't.

Here’s what happened, according to WGME, a cat somehow ended up trapped in a storm drain, leaving her family frantically searching for her.

The cat's owner posted on Facebook about her missing cat and luckily, someone responded. Someone's dog had pulled him to a storm drain where he heard meowing. Turned out, it was that missing cat.

Maine Lost Cat Recovery, responded with town officials to the scene and performed a dramatic rescue to free the cat from her predicament in the drain, according to the report. However, the rescue wasn't short, it took them many attempts over a few days.

After they rescued the cat, she did run away again into the woods. But don't worry, after she collected herself from the ordeal, she returned home, as per the post.

Imagine walking by a storm drain, minding your own business, when suddenly you hear a meow. You look down, and there, looking up at you with those little kitty eyes, is in fact a little kitty stuck in a storm drain!

Oh, the horror! Thank goodness for the heroes who came to the rescue and worked together to free her.

As someone who has a soft spot for animals, this whole ordeal just struck me.
