Fall Back! Don’t Forget To Set Your Clocks Back An Hour, Maine.
Daylight Saving Time: I've found people either love it or hate it. And often, folks forget that it's even happening!
I can't tell you how many times shown up to an event on a Sunday morning at the wrong hour, thanks to Daylight Saving Time.
And then there's the argument on how to correctly say it: Daylight Savings or Saving Time? (The latter is actually correct.)
Personally, despite the debate as to whether it should even exist or not (I'd be ok if the Spring-ahead part went away forever) I'm someone who looks forward to falling back every year. I don't care if it doesn't make sense to take part in it anymore.
As someone who never seems to have enough time in the day to get what I need to get done (especially sleep!) I am so happy when fall comes, and we all trick our brains into thinking we've been gifted another hour to rest or be productive. I will happily take part in that lie!
If there were greeting cards for Falling Back, I would send them out. Heck, if we hadn't just come straight off of Halloween, I'd throw a Fall Back party!
Yes, it means it will still be dark when we get up now. And yes, it means it will throw off our entire internal clocks, and we'll likely be aggravated by both animals and small children, both of who aren't going to give a darn that the clocks have changed. They'll still want to eat and go to the bathroom at the same times that they always do.
I don't care if it's jacked up that one of my favorite events of the year is based on a lie we tell ourselves about time: Falling back is bliss in my book!
Which brings us to this weekend! Yes, it's time! Daylight Saving is about to end, and we get to finally fall back! So don't forget to set those clocks back Sunday night! How will you be spending your extra hour?
Wisely, I hope!
