The Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber bromance came upon us so fast it seems impossible to think about what's next. A wedding, a song, a music video ... could an awards show performance or even a tour be on the horizon?

Don't worry, we asked.

Bieber got married on Monday (Sept. 30), and soon after we learned the country duo attended the wedding with their wives. Then came a collaboration, the news that Dan + Shay actually sang the new song (and two others) at Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's wedding reception and a sweet new music video. To say there is a plan is an understatement. From the moment the writers of "10,000 Hours" dreamed up including the pop star on the song until now, every step has been coordinated in detail with their teams, and the execution has been nearly airtight.

The results? In less than three hours the new music video racked up 300,000 views and pop and country audiences worldwide are talking about the song. Surely they're not done, right?

Officially, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney aren't sayin' nuffin' to nobody. But unofficially ...

Talking to Taste of Country Nights, the "10,000 Hours" singers admit nobody from the CMA Awards had reached out about a performance yet, but they weren't quite so definite about hitting the road in 2020 (or not).

Watch the exchange at about 2:15 in this video to get a full feel for the dynamics of a conversation, or read the transcription below:

ToC Nights host Evan Paul: What about a tour with Justin Bieber?

Dan Smyers: Man, I dunno. I don't know what we have in the works. We're working on a couple of things.

Paul: Do you know or just don't wanna tell?

Symers (as the room laughs): (Winks) Do you see me winking? No, I (indiscernible)

Shay Mooney: We're like, 'I don't know what's gonna happen.' It's up in the air.

Smyers: We'll see, man.

In the room, Smyers' wink was interpreted more as a joke than him not saying something he wants to be saying. On the other hand, neither Dan + Shay nor Bieber have much planned for next year. The country duo has a single festival in Iowa on their official calendar. The pop singer hasn't toured since 2017 and hasn't announced any plans to, per his official website.

Logistically it's possible, but would it be a good career move? Yes and yes. Kacey Musgraves (with Harry Styles), Maren Morris (Niall Horan) and more recently Kelsea Ballerini (with the more country friendly Kelly Clarkson) proved opening a world tour for a pop artist is not going to get you kicked out of the country club. Smyers and Mooney have done the legwork to this point to endear themselves to the industry — it's really hard to think of two young men in country who arrive more effortlessly polished and ready to work than Dan + Shay, and they've done nothing in the seven years since "19, You + Me" was released to crack that foundation.

It's worth pointing out that Bieber and Dan + Shay are both managed by Scooter Braun. There is no hard evidence that this is going to happen, but plenty of reasons to quietly start saving some money for tickets. Worst case scenario, you'll be halfway to the Apple iPhone 12 this time next year.
