• Virginia Patterson Hensley was born on September 8, 1932, in Winchester, Virginia.
• She taught herself to play piano.
• She got a recording contact in the mid-1950s. This led to the release of one of her greatest hits, “Walkin’ After Midnight.”
• She was good friends with Loretta Lynn.
• Patsy Cline was married to Gerald Cline for a time in the mid-1950s, but the union was short-lived. She married Charlie Dick in 1957 and together they had two children, Julia and Allen Randolph.
• Her career was all too brief. She died on March 5, 1963, in a plane crash.
