Did you know that on this day in Country Music History in 2002 Martina McBride performed at Salt Lake City's Olympics Medals Park on closing night of the 2002 Winter Olympics?

It’s true. Willie Nelson also took part in the closing ceremonies, singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Check out the video.

• Her first group was a family band her father formed called the Shiffters. She started singing with them at age 7 and continued to perform with them until she graduated high school.
• She made her acting debut in a 1994 episode of Baywatch. (Remember that show?)
• She is an active supporter of domestic-violence awareness and prevention programs, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
• One of her childhood idols is Pat Benatar.
• She has 3 daughters: Delaney, Emma and Ava.
