CMA Fest 2019: Behind the Scenes at the Big Event

Cross-genre covers? Big-name surprise guests? Adorable puppies finding their "fur-ever" homes? Oh yeah -- all that and more took place during the jam-packed, four-day CMA Fest in June. And on Sunday night (Aug. 4), viewers will have a front-row seat to the fun with the CMA Fest: The Music Event of Summer TV special.

Fans who didn't attend CMA Fest 2019 will get their chance to see the performances, while those who did will be able to re-live some of the great shows they saw. However, there are still a few behind-the-scenes moments that didn't make it into the highlights reel.

The bulk of the CMA Fest TV special was filmed at Nissan Stadium, where headliners closed out the festival's lineup each night. Sure, lots of breathtaking moments went down on the big stage -- but much of the fun happened on other stages, in non-performance fan events and even backstage. With such an action-packed festival, it would be impossible to get absolutely everything on camera, and even harder to include every memorable moment in the TV special's three-hour broadcast.
