On Friday, June 23, the nearly century-old Stenton Trust Mill in Sanford went up in flames, according to the Portland Press Herald. It was a huge, fast moving fire that took very little time to engulf the entire mill.

The fire was reported around 6:50 p.m. Friday, according to the news organization. The Press Herald reported that about 100 firefighters from different communities fought the flames so the blaze wouldn't spread to surrounding buildings.

The city manager of Sanford, Steven Buck, said the 300,000-square-foot mill was being treated as a possible crime scene, according to the Press Herald.
