Big Al Horford had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to help lead the Boston Celtics past the young Minneosta Timberwovles 117-104 Wednesday night.

Horford did all that against one of the good, young rising star centers in the league, Karl- Anthony Towns (17 points, 14 rebounds).

Isaiah Thomas lead the C's with 27 points.

The Celtics win, combined with a Washington loss means the Celts have a game and a half lead over the Wiz for the battle of second place in the East.

The Celtics are 43-25 with games this weekend at Brooklyn and at Philly.
