Using the shell casings left over from shooting guns wind up in the garbage somewhere, but that's not the case here in Aroostook County. Two women started a venture around the spent .22 casings left over from the Biathlons that took place here in Northern Maine several years ago.

In the midst of the 2014 Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships, the Biathlon committee overheard that IBU Race Director, Borut Nunar's dream was to one day drive a tractor trailer truck. Well, the staff at the Northern Maine Community College stepped in and made a dream come true.

An event like the 2014 Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle is no small task to pull off. In addition to the generous support of all of the sponsors, over 400 volunteers are helping to make this event run smoothly.

It’s Day 3 of the 2014 IBU Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. The sun is shining, which is helping to curb the cold, and fans have taken the opportunity to cheer on the athletes.

It's a chilly day here at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle, the site of the 2014 IBU Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships.  That shouldn't stop you from heading out to support your favorite athletes.  The 'Junior Women Sprint' wrapped up this morning with Russia taking home the Gold.

Day 2 of the 2014 IBU Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships is in full swing at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle.  The Junior Women Sprint just wrapped  up and the Junior Men Sprint is set to kick off at 12:30.
