Caribou Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Pornography
A 22-year-old Caribou man pled guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court to possessing child pornography.
According to court records, between about November 2016 and April 2017, Ryan T. Card possessed images of child pornography in his cell phone. At least one of these files, which he had sought out and downloaded from on-line storage accounts on the internet, depicted a child under the age of 12.
Card faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and between five years and a lifetime of supervised release. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, the Caribou Police Department, and the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit.
