Blake Shelton and Craig Morgan have been friends for a long time, so the "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" singer has stories. Press him and you'll get the best ones, like that one time The Voice coach humbled Morgan to tears.

Actually, it's happened a few times. Talking to Taste of Country, Morgan admitted that when Shelton tweeted support for the heartfelt ballad, and then did it again and again until the song reached No. 1 on iTunes, he became emotional. Morgan wrote "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" about life after the death of the singer's son Jerry in 2016, and sharing it with others — especially in a live setting — is excruciatingly difficult.

Days after Jerry died in a water accident, he was laid to rest, and Shelton came with girlfriend Gwen Stefani.

"They were gonna walk through the front door with everyone else," Morgan recalls during an interview with Taste of Country Nights. "They were so humble, they did not want or request or want anything above and beyond. They were willing to sit wherever, and that just says a lot about their character and their personality."

Time has not eased the pain, a pain that Morgan compares to having a broken rib 365 days a year. Watch the full interview below to learn of the powerful stories he's received recently and how he almost fainted performing the song on the Kelly Clarkson Show this fall.
