You never forget your first Summer job! Whether it was miserable, grueling, easy, or an absolute blast, those seasonal gigs are the ones you never forget.

My best friend growing up was a camp counselor at a sleep away camp for Jewish kids every Summer. She came back with such amazing tales. It seems like all the counselors would party after the kids went to sleep and hook up with each other. What a Summer for the books, am I right?! Hopefully no kids ever needed them in the wee hours of the night because it sounds like the counselors were pretty busy.

My Summer job was a little less glamorous. I worked at a nursery in my hometown (for plants, not for babies. Though sometimes I would get roped into watching my boss' kids) I tended to the flowers in the greenhouse and rang old ladies up for their Begonias and would help load their flowers in their car. The nursery was on a farm where they had a few goats, chickens, and a donkey named Peter. All the employees would take turns on who would have to shovel out Peter's pen. It was a less than desirable job as you can imagine and the really hot Summer days were BRUTAL especially if it was a donkey day.

South Burlington, VT is one of my favorite cities in New England and even the country. My husband and I love hopping around to all the different shops on Church Street and touring their awesome breweries. One time we went to a local farm and took a lesson on how to make mozzarella cheese!

There is no shortage of fun stuff to do in this city that sits pretty on Lake Champlain which is why it came in at #3 on Wallet Hub's list. Also it is worth noting that South Burlington, VT, has the highest labor-force participation rate of people aged 16 to 24, which is two times higher than in Irvine, California, the city with the lowest.
