Halloween is indeed coming, but this has nothing to do with Halloween, and is for kids this coming weekend.

And it has been going on for years.

It is Kids Fishing Day on Sunday the 29th in Bangor for the 8th year.

You don’t need a costume; it would only scare the fish anyway. Save your costume for a couple of days later.

The City of Bangor presents Kids Fishing day at Bangor Municipal Golf Course and Kids of all ages are welcome.

This is a free event and you do not need a fishing license. The fun takes place on the second hole of the Championship course located on Webster Avenue in Bangor, from 11:30 a.m until 2 p.m.

You need your own equipment and shiny spinners and worms work best, but there will be a Fisheries Biologist on site to help and to answer questions.

If your question is are there any fish in the pond, the answer is yes.

In the past the City has stocked the pond with 100 brook trout.

No fly fishing for safety reasons. And obviously there will be no golfers around either. Can’t wait to see what you catch.
