Yesterday, U.S. News and World Report released its annual public high school ranking report. It ranked the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone at number 13 nationwide.

The school is a boarding school that hosts students in grade 9 through 12. The school fosters learning with small class sizes, extracurricular activities, and work assignments. Students live in a dorm, separated into wings by gender and grade level.

The curriculum at MSSM includes AP courses in physics, English literature, and statistics, among others. During January Term, students can participate in internships, conduct research projects, or expand upon in-class learning.

The report also gave the school the number 1 rank in the state of Maine and the number 3 mark among the nation’s magnet schools.
