This seems to be an ongoing debate among those who live in Aroostook County. Some say there are not enough jobs and others say there are not enough workers.

According to the Center for Workforce Research and Information on Maine.gov, the unemployment rate in 2016 in Aroostook County was 5.7-percent.

That means out of the 31,576 employable population in the County, 29,772 were employed, leaving 1,804 unemployed.

For the record, in 2016, the statistics showed that the unemployment rate in the whole state of Maine was 3.9-percent.
