Approximately 200,000 Contraband Cigarettes Seized In Two Incidents, Perth-Andover, N.B.
The RCMP discovered over 200,000 contraband cigarettes after two traffic stop. Two men had their vehicles seized and have been arrested.
A 60-year-old man was arrested April 28th when it was discovered his vehicle had around 50,000 contraband cigarettes when it was stopped in Perth-Andover on Highway 2, said the RCMP.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on May 4th after police found 150,000 contraband cigarettes on Highway 2 in Waterville, police said.
Both men have been released pending court hearings.
The RCMP said the seizures are not believed to be related. They are continuing to investigate.
