8 Arrested After Alleged Assault Shared On Social Media in Central Maine

PASSADUMKEAG, Maine (AP) — Eight people are facing charges after the alleged assault of a minor in Maine was shared hundreds of times on social media.

WABI-TV reports the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department received a complaint about the assault of a minor in the town of Passadumkeag July 3.

Authorities say they were able to identify the victim and the majority of those involved.

Seven men and one juvenile girl are now facing charges that include reckless conduct and assault and furnishing a place for minors to drink.
