A man from the Baker-Brook area has been charged in connection with the death of a 46-year-old man.

Friday morning, August 26, the RCMP were called to a scene on Richard Road in Baker-Brook, where a man’s body was discovered outside of a cottage. The investigation led police to believe that foul play was involved in the man’s death, and a 22-year-old man was arrested.

On the afternoon of August 26, 22-year-old Johnny Albert appeared in Edmundston Provincial Court and was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Gordon Albert.

Johnny Albert has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on September 1 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation by the RCMP in New Brunswick’s Major Crime Unit is ongoing, with assistance from the Edmundston Police Force.
