On Saturday (Aug. 11), country artist Granger Smith lost some of his gear in a major semi-truck accident out on the road. Smith posted about the accident on his Instagram account, noting that the overturned equipment truck's driver escaped the crash without injury. "We lost gear, but all that can be replaced," Smith writes. "Grateful for my road brothers, and thankful for another day." After the accident, Smith performed as scheduled in Baltimore, Md., that night. -- AM

Carrie Underwood and Florida Georgia Line were winners at Sunday night's (Aug. 12) 2018 Teen Choice Awards. At the fan-voted awards show, Underwood was named Choice Country Artist, while FGL's collaboration with Bebe Rexha, "Meant to Be," earned Choice Country Song. Florida Georgia Line were also nominated in the all-genre Choice Music Group and Choice Collaboration categories, but did not win those honors. -- AS

Singer-songwriter Abby Anderson's debut EP is set for release this fall. Titled I'm Good, the forthcoming project will feature Anderson's current single "Make Him Wait," co-written by songwriters Tom Douglas and Josh Kerr -- the latter of whom also produced the EP -- as well as her newly released song "Dance Away My Broken Heart." I'm Good will be released on Black River Entertainment on Sept. 7. -- AM

On Saturday night (Aug. 11), Kenny Chesney set a new attendance record at Nashville's Nissan Stadium. A total of 55,182 fans packed the football stadium for his Trip Around the Sun Tour stop, besting a 2014 record set by pop band One Direction. -- AS

Morgan Evans recently took to the streets of Nashville for a "pop-up" toast announcing his new self-titled EP. Evans showed up at Tootsie's on Broadway on Thursday night (Aug. 9) to reveal the project, and treated patrons at the bar to a round of shots to celebrate the EP, according to a press release. The 5-track Morgan Evans EP, out now, features songs written by Evans and Nashville heavy-hitters including Josh Osborne and Ashley Gorley. -- AM
