2015 Summer Road Maintenance Routes in Aroostook County

The summer season is prime time for road construction, and there sure is a lot of it happening in Aroostook County right now.

We've got several notices from the Maine Department of Transportation to pass along to motorists.

Route 2 in Smyrna - look out for flagger - Route 2 in both directions at the Railroad Tracks in Smyrna and extending northeasterly 5.05 miles. near Smyrna Mills Expect single line traffic alternating directions because of road maintenance and crack sealing activities. Look out for a slow moving maintenance vehicle. Look out for flaggers. Expect delays. Starting July 7, 2015 until August 10. From 6:00AM to 6:00PM on weekdays and Saturdays. Temporary travel lane closures are anticipated during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday.

Route 164 in Washburn - in both directions Beginning .36 miles easterly of the Intersection of Route 228 and Route 164 and extending northeasterly 6.26 miles to .04 miles westerly of the of the Washburn / Woodland town line. A lane is closed. Look out for a slow moving maintenance vehicle because of road maintenance and crack sealing activities. Starting July 7, 2015 until August 10. From 6:00AM to 6:00PM on weekdays and Saturdays. Temporary travel lane closures are anticipated during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday.
Route 1 in Caribou - in both directions Expect single line traffic in alternating directions Beginning 0.15 miles northerly of Bennett Drive and extending northerly 10.02 miles to Connor Twp 0.47 miles south of Guerette Road. due to road maintenance and Crack Sealing activities. Route 89 in Caribou - in both directions, Beginning 0.15 miles from the intersection of Route 1 and 89 and extending northerly 9.56 miles to the intersection of Route 1A in Limestone. A lane is closed because of road maintenance and Crack Sealing activities. Look out for a slow moving maintenance vehicle. Expect delays. Look out for flaggers. Starting July 7, 2015 until August 10. Look out for a slow moving maintenance vehicle. Look out for flaggers. Expect delays. Starting July 7, 2015 until August 10. From 6:00AM to 6:00PM on weekdays and Saturdays.
