Woodstock Man Enters Plea in Richmond Corner Murder Case
A Woodstock man charged in the death of an 82-year-old Richmond Corner woman was back in court this week.
Nineteen-year-old Kyle Edmond Scott is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 82-year-old Sarah Kennedy last October at her home on Route 555 in Richmond Corner, New Brunswick. The RCMP was called to Kennedy’s home on the morning of October 5 after a family member discovered her body inside the house.
Scott was arrested that night driving Kennedy’s vehicle, which police say had been stolen from the woman’s home.
Scott appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on Monday for what was supposed to be a pre-trial conference. Defense counsel Edward Derrah informed Justice Terrence J. Morrison that his client instead wished to enter a plea on the second-degree murder charge.
Scott will be back in court again on May 6th.
