Young Woman Killed in Collision on Highway 3 in Harvey, N.B.

A 19-year-old woman has died after her car struck a transport truck Thursday evening in Harvey, just southwest of Fredericton.

McAdam RCMP responded to the crash  on Highway 3 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sgt. Peter Stubbs said it appears the woman's vehicle, which was travelling east, went out of control and struck a westbound transport truck.

The young woman, who was from Tower Hill, N.B., was transported to hospital where she passed away from her injuries. She was the lone occupant of the car. Police say the driver of the transport truck was not injured in the collision.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. West District RCMP say weather and road conditions are believed to have been factors.
