Woman Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash in Northeastern New Brunswick
A 33-year-old woman has died following a collision late Tuesday on Route 11 in Tracadie-Sheila.
Police say the crash happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. The victim was southbound on Route 11 when she apparently lost control of her vehicle, crossed into the northbound lane, and was struck by an oncoming pickup truck, according to Constable Steven Breau of Northeast District RCMP.
The woman, who is from Tracadie-Sheila passed away from her injuries.
Poor road conditions are thought to have been a factor at the time of the crash, Breau said.
The driver and a passenger in the truck suffered what are believed to be minor injuries and were taken to hospital.
Route 11 was closed for a period of time Tuesday evening. An RCMP collision reconstructionist assisted in the investigation, which is ongoing.
